Hi, I'm Alexander Scudder, a junior at Glastonbury High School. My journey has taken me from Japan to Italy and finally to Glastonbury, CT, in 2018. Through all those moves, tennis has been my constant, a passion I share with my younger brother, William. From biking to our local club in Nagoya, Japan, to finding my place on the GHS varsity team, tennis has been a huge part of our lives.
After moving to Connecticut, choosing the right tennis club took some time, but it was worth it. Tennis has always been my favorite sport (even though I was pretty good at soccer, swimming, and skiing). I just love the feeling of being out on the court, hitting the ball, and feeling that rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins.

After two years of playing on the GHS varsity team, I started wishing that we had better courts for everyone in the community to enjoy. Last season, the tennis team raised $300 by selling yard signs, but my brother and I wanted to keep raising money for the tennis team. So, we started “The Tennnis Broz”, our own little stringing and gripping business for our tennis community. We thought we’d start with just a few friends, but then figured, why not open it up to the local community? We’re donating half of what we make to support our GHS tennis team and the other half for the rest for my college fund, where I hope to keep playing tennis and studying. William is a key part of the Tennis Broz, and you will see him more often on the courts with me!
We also collect old tennis and pickleball racquets to donate to underprivileged kids in the Greater Hartford area. If you have any old racquets sitting in your garage or closet, please contact us directly at TheTennisBroz@gmail.com - we'd love to give them a new life!
